Summer Camp 2025
We are looking at Sending the Troop out to Camp Alexander in the Pikes Peak Council in Colorado the week of June 8th. This camp has come with high regards from scouters and leaders as being an amazing Scout Camp. If you have ever camped in Texas summers then you can understand the plight of our scouts to head out of state for camp. Being above 8k feet brings cooler weather and picturesque camping opportunities.
From their website. “Camp Alexander is located in the beautiful Eleven-mile Canyon in the Pike National Forest approximately 45 miles west of Colorado Springs, and two miles south of Lake George, in Park County, Colorado. The elevation at Camp Alexander varies between 8200 and 8600 feet, and the camp area consists of hills, low mountains, and valleys covered by a mix of Ponderosa pine forests, high-altitude grasslands, and wetland vegetation along the lake and stream. There is abundant wildlife including, rabbits, squirrels, deer, elk, bears, and bald eagles.”

We do need to get a rough number on how many want to go as well as how many adults would like to attend as well. Tackling out of state camps takes a village to do and plenty of coordination. Our Scoutmaster, Brian Killebrew, is planning on attending to help with the efforts. There are no fees needed to sign up but we will need to start collecting fees once we register with the camp.
