Hiking Beavers Bend State Park

We will be hiking the amazing Skyline Loop Trail in Beavers Bend State Park and exploring the Park. We are camping right next to the river. The fall colors will be in full swing so the hiking will be absolutely amazing!

II. Departure Time and Place:

We will be leaving Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church at 6:30. It is a little over 3 hrs. to get there so we should arrive around 10pm. Directions input 34.17765, -94.72932

III. Camp

We will be camping in Beavers Bend State Park, we have campsites HW 007, HW 008 and HW 013.

IV. Transportation:

We will travel by car for this campout.

V. Return Time:

Our goal is to depart Beavers Bend State Park by 8:30 A.M. We should return to the Otto Middle School area by 12pm .

VI. Food:

Scouts will need to have dinner prior to showing up or on the road. Patrols will be meal planning for the weekend.

Saturday morning- hot breakfast
Saturday lunch – Sack lunch or backpacking meal

Sunday breakfast- grab and go breakfast

VII. Personal Equipment List:

We will be hiking so make sure you have a suitable daypack and hiking boots and at least 2 liters of water.

Notes on Trip

The Hike will be a 8.5 mile hike with an elevation gain of 1660 ft. This is a loop trail so we will end up where we start. The hike is challenging but extremely worth the effort. There is a waterfall along the way and spectacular views. Print off the trail map and bring a compass. We will have an opportunity to
