High Adventure
We have programs aimed at Scouts of all experience levels and ranks. Older scouts may participate in High Adventure activities, National or World Jamborees, and Venturing. We have several High Adventure Trips each year. The following is a summary of the High Adventure programs that we have attended, details/guides of each, and the history of our attendance at each. We always are planning for upcoming High Adventure Treks. If you are interested, check out our announcements for upcoming treks.
The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, New River Gorge, West Virginia.
The Summit (SBR) is the newest high-adventure base in Scouting, the permanent home of the national Scout jamboree, and the site of the 2019 World Scout Jamboree. Through outdoor action sports and experiential learning programs at world-class facilities, the Summit fosters achievement, adventure, and innovation in Scouting.
The Summit property is on 10,600 acres adjacent to the New River Gorge National River area. That means access to incredible outdoor terrain in the Appalachian Mountains that provides a home for some of the world’s best whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and mountain biking.

Northern Tier provides wilderness experiences in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of the Minnesota lakes or in Quetico Provincial Park of Ontario Canada.
Our typical trips are summer canoeing trips lasting approximately one week, however Fall canoe trips and Winter skiing trips are also available.

Philmont Scout RanchPhilmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM provides challenging backpacking treks and high adventure activities.
Description: Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America’s premier High Adventure™ base, challenges Scouts and Venturers with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness. Backpacking treks, horseback cavalcades, and training and service programs offer young people many ways to experience this legendary country.

Sea BaseSea Base in Florida or the Bahamas provides sailing adventures.
Description: Located in Islamorada and on Summerland Key in the beautiful Florida Keys, as well as Marsh Harbour, Great Abaco Island, Bahamas, the near shore reefs and crystal clear waters offer unparalleled opportunities for long term and short term programs year round. The BSA conference facilities are utilized for youth and adult Scouting Conferences and non-Scouting groups when available.
Activities include: sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing.
